Jan Howard the Fisherwoman |
I noticed a common theme in detective shows where social media is searched to locate or learn more about individuals. Having an unremarkable life, I wondered if I Googled Jan Howard I would even exist. Jan Howard does exist – as a country singer who performed at the Grand Ole Opry. She was born in 1929 and died in 2020.

I decided to search further and tried Googling Jan Howard
– Fishing. This search found me but
attributed my fishing experiences to Jan Howard the Country singer. Trust me, I am not a country singer. I can not sing!

Incorrect info |
I am the fishing Jan Howard (aka Janet L. Howard) and I do not sing. I was born in 1947 and am still alive. I’ve been an angler and involved in fishing activities since the 1990’s including representing United Anglers of Southern California, Braid Products, Berkley Products, and Mustad Hooks. I am an author too. I currently write a fishing blog detailing each of my fishing trips and in 1994 I wrote a book titled “Boots from Heaven” that was published by Cross Cultural Publications. The book is about my father’s experiences as a pilot after being shot down over France and ending up in a concentration camp during WWIII.
I will post this message to my blog in the hopes it will attribute the various accomplishments I have made to me and those that belong to the country singer to her. Let’s see how accurate AI is.
August 20, 2025 - Congratulations Google AI. When I Google Jan Howard Angler now, here is what I find:
Thanks for the clarification.
